| Headshot Session Info & Rates I have designed this page to provide you with as much information on what a session with me is like. If you are considering me as your photographer, I highly recommend reading what’s below. More specifically, this page will tell you: 1. What is included in a headshot session 2. My approach to portraiture that focuses on capturing your very best self All Sessions Include: Unlimited Digital Images There is not a set limit to the number of photos I’ll take during a session OR a set amount of time I shoot. On average, my sessions range from 2-3 hours for men and 3-4 hours for women, which includes hair and make-up time. For the most part, we shoot until we have it and my clients leave the studio with 150-250 of the very best images from the shoot. Though I may shoot over a 1000 photos. How do we know we have it? In-Session Editing on a Computer You and I will review every single image together, on a computer, during your session. We shoot for a bit then see what we’re getting and continue that throughout the shoot. I cannot stress how valuable this part of my process is. First off, you can be certain we’re getting you the best possible shots because you can see it happening during the session on a 21 inch iMac screen and not on a 3 inch screen on the back of a digital camera. Secondly, I edit as I go. That is, when the session is done you have all the best photos from the shoot. I upload them to the web and they are viewable same day. Lastly, you are able to take my coaching and run with it while getting visual feedback on how it’s going. This is critical for a stand-out headshot. Coaching Second only to my finished product, coaching is the most complimented aspect of my client’s experience with me. My background and training are in acting: I hold a BA in Acting and Directing from DeSales University and an MFA in Acting from Rutgers University under William Esper. I know how to communicate and work with actors and I love the hell out of them. I am an outstanding coach and know how to bring out the very best in each of my clients. Our relationship will be more like one between actor and director and less like photographer and subject. Online Proofing Gallery All of my clients receive a downloadable proofing gallery the same day of the shoot. This is a collection of the best, un-retouched shots taken that day. It is password encrypted and you may share it with as many people as you like. 5-6 Different Looks I generally shoot 5-6 different tops per client. Men are welcome to shave during the session. We’ll do different looks for hair on women. Guys, if you have long hair, we’ll mix it up for you as well. Gear/Lighting I use the best camera gear Nikon has to offer and shoot exclusively with production quality Kino Flo lighting equipment. A bit on lighting…after years of experimenting with various light configurations - natural light, strobe/studio lights, window light and lots in between- I arrived at using Kino Flo fluorescents. They produce some of the most flattering light available. This is one of the reasons why they are used on tv and film production sets around the world. Retouching/Prints Once you have selected the images you would like retouched and/or printed, I send them for you directly to Reproductions, a professional film lab and printer here in New York City. I have yet to find a better printer for actor headshots. I do not make any money from you getting retouching or prints at Reproductions. They are an independent vendor who simply has the best quality work. You can even do the whole process online without have to go into their lab. Prints and retouching are purchased separately from Reproductions. Rates My current rate for actor headshots is 500/session.
